As most Canadians are highly anticipating, Halloween will be here at the end of the month! The Unity Payments team would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy and safe Halloween! Of course, we imagine that many of you will be donning costumes and taking out the kids to go trick-or-treating. With the entire “treating” concept in mind, we thought it wise to consider some ways that you can get into the spirit of giving your customers sweet treats.
Give rewards for customer loyalty and referrals.
A rewards program is a great way to keep customers coming back. It’s also an excellent show of appreciation for those who recommend your store to others. By creating a loyalty and/or referral program, you both show your gratitude and offer special discounts to the customers who are most likely to brag about your business.
“If it makes sense for your business, offer a customer loyalty program with rewards for your customers,” suggests Sophia Bernazzani Barron of HubSpot, “If your business follows a recurring revenue structure, reward customers when they hit certain benchmarks such as offering a discount once they've been a customer for a certain amount of time.”
Follow up with them after a sale.
Never take your customer relationships for granted. It’s important that you don’t simply forget about your customers once the sales are completed. Your shoppers love it when you make them feel valued. Sending follow-up emails to ensure that your customers are happy with their purchases is great way to establish strong connections with your brand’s supporters. Simple thank you messages go a long way as well.
“Customers value a true relationship, one that lasts past the sale,” insists Aaron Levy of Raise The Bar on Forbes.com, “Check in with your customers down the road to find out if they have any questions or issues. Find out how they are doing personally. Think of ways to promote their businesses and utilize their services. For example, we have featured our clients on our podcast and often share content about their business.”
Offer them exclusive access.
What are the perks to being a long-time and loyal supporter of your brand? It’s integral that your return visitors know how much you appreciate their continued support. According to Bernazzani Barron, you should give your customers early or exclusive access to new products or services, special events and offers. Doing so can be a great way to show them you value their customer status.
“Give them sneak peeks into product development, invite them to beta test new product features, allow them to be the first to try out a new service, or offer discounted rates only available to paying customers,” she encourages, “They'll feel special, and you might even benefit from some valuable user feedback on your new product features.”
